Cabo Blanco National Park

Thanks to dedication of Karen Morgansen and Olof Wessberg (naturalist swedish couple) in 1963, Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve was the first national park in Costa Rica. Nowadays 1250 hectares of dense forest host hundreds of plant and animal species (including long-tailed coati, withe-faced and howler monkeys) in miles of protected forest costline making of Cabo Blanco reserve a favorite national park and tourist destination of Gaunacaste and Peninsula de Nicoya.

The small community Cabuya is the gateway to Cabo Blanco Natural reserve since its borders are the principal entrance to the park. Cabuya offer several places to discover, natural places for hiking, bird watching and beachcombing. Other activities are available for Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve to enjoy natural beauty of the zone. Kayak, canopy tours, horseback riding and scuba diving are available to observe natural environment of the place.
